one of the kids.

zach is lounging on the couch when i open the last box of girl scout cookies.
thin mints.
i take one over to him and place it on his forehead.
he immediately starts to wiggle his entire face until he has successfully retrieved the cookie in his mouth and smeared chocolate upon his eye lid.

we were sitting at pack meeting last evening listening to some announcements being made when i look over at zach and i realize the bottom button from his scout shirt is completely missing.
i whisper "what happened to your button dear?"
with a sly smile he whispers back "i shoved a basketball under my shirt and was trying to spin it, haven't you ever done that?"(haha who does that?)

pack meeting was centered around compassion and understanding those with disabilities.
a wheel chair was brought in, along with some other stations to get a slight glimpse of what it would be like to have a disability.
while running our (make a pb&j sandwhich with one hand booth) i noticed zach watching the kids playing in the wheelchair, a bit longingly.
he then told me that he had learned how to do a wheely in a wheelchair, and really wanted to try it.
it didnt happen till the tail end of the night while we were cleaning up when i saw him with a couple scouts around him popping wheelys with a huge grin on his face.

sometimes i laugh to myself and think back to those times when i have heard people say "a husband is just one of the kids."
well maybe so...this cutie is so full of life and i cant help but smile at how fun and spontaneous he is.
thanks for helping me keep a hold of the kid inside me, zachary!

creme brûlée weekend.

have i ever mentioned i love the weekend?
mmmm well i do.... maybe a little too much.
this weekend was really quite nice.
friday i went and saw "micro dance" in concert at the rose wagnar theater with samantha, gretchen and amanda.
this concert was created for a 32 square foot stage.
itty bitty.
up close and personal thats for sure.

saturday i took zach to work so i could use the car for the day.
after dropping him off and wishing he didn't have to work every day this weekend i headed over to bed bath and beyond.
i went in search of a little baby cooking blow torch! fun!
i was going to attempt the task of making creme brûlée.
you see i have started this thing where i am going to try to cook/bake something new and exciting each week.
 i started with creme brûlée.
why this delectable treat you wonder?
well it was my dear aunt sheri's birthday on friday the 22nd and she adores the dessert.
plus it looked really fun to make.
and o boy was it ever!
happy birthday sheri.

although i felt like i did everything in a round about way, and had custard all over my kitchen,

it surprisingly turned out.
sheri squealed in delight when she saw it and when she tasted it!
i recommend this recipe if you are having the desire to use a miniature blow torch and make something delicious.
its easy to follow and there are pictures to follow along!
here is what i came up with.

saturday evening i ventured down to provo to see stefani perform in her dance concert. called "cowboy poetry" she did a swell job. i was tapping my toes the rest of the night after that.
plus there was a yodeler... super cool.
it sure was great to see everyone!

sunday church was the very best.
i love being in the primary.
the kids are just the sweetest.
i appreciate the great examples they all are to me.
during choir practice i glanced back at my cute husband in the tenor section to ask if he had to go for work?
but he gave me a cute little grin and shook his head no.
he surprised me and didn't really have to go in. yippee.
we went up to north ogden (the promised land) to visit our family.
ah the lloyd's have the most beautiful kitchen.
they are remodleing.
it looks really great!
so splendid to see them all.

you see why i love the weekend?

all sorts of warmth.

"its spring" he says.
feels like winter to me
"but now its officially spring!" he says
still seems like winter.
first three days of spring= snowy coldness here in northern utah.
thats okay we still have warm memories to hold onto from last week.
here is a bit of a spring break wrap up.

endless hours spent staring at this little one. melts my heart.

beautiful st. george

went shooting with the family out in warner valley. my dad and brayden were pretty gung-ho to go. i was a bit hesitant. i have never shot a real gun before.... nor did i really have the desire. but it ended up being quite the eventful experience.

while shooting the 22 the bullet shell thing that flys out of the side, flew right down my shirt! ouch. it was pretty toasty and caused me to do a little jig. but i finally shook it out. maybe ill wear a turtle neck next time...

did a little dancing at ACDFA in Cedar City. monsters ready. love these people.

their first meeting. doesn't he look good with a baby?

fun times in mexico. doing the things that dentists do. what a neat experience!

cleaned all sorts of teeth, and is a professional flosser now. he even extracted a few!

made lots of  friends while he was there.

although we are still waiting for the spring weather to kick in here, we are grateful for the good times we had enjoying all sorts of warmth last week!
