Some of my favorite things about Oregon, and what comes to mind when i reflect back on our trip:
1. It was my first time to Oregon, and it sure did not disappoint!
2. Nola's first flight! I would be lying if i said i wasn't just a bit nervous to fly with a babe. but she did really quite well. She fell asleep in her dads arms on both flights which made for a pretty stress free experience!

3. I loved seeing Zach's old stomping ground when he was lil guy. He spent three years of his childhood living in Lake Oswego Oregon and has fond memories there. It was so fun to hear some stories and visit a place that is so dear to him and his family!
His good friend Jo from elementary school told a story of how at recess all the girls
would chase him and Zach around the playground, one day Jo had a brilliant idea to split up, but when they did, all the girls continued to chase Zach, at the time he thought he was brilliant, but now he realizes it must have been cause the 6 year old Zach was such a ladies man. haha!
4. It was very green. Trees everywhere! ! i didn't think anything of it when everyone would say its so green in Oregon... but as soon as we arrived back in Utah i realized we really don't have that many trees... i sure do love our mountains though.
5. WEDDING! We attended such a beautiful, heartfelt, picturesque wedding. I felt like we were in a movie or something, the location was completely stunning! Plus i love dancing with that cute husband of mine he's got some pretty cool moves! Ever since our dating days i have always been super impressed by his dance skills. Nola was a fun dinner date too, she likes to grab at everything!
6. Nature walks. All the beauty of Oregon on a nice paved path, just trying not to step on a slug. Magical really. Tyron State Park.
7. Multnoma Falls! This was a breathtaking hike, and i can sincerely say i enjoyed it! sometimes i have to pretend i like hiking, but this time i really did.
8.Powells City of Books!! This was the bookstore of my dreams! an entire block in Portland dedicated to books, what else!? I could have spent an entire week in this store. I especially loved the kids section, seeing as i have a slight obsession with children's books. Nola also seemed to really like Powells. she was as happy as a clam the entire time we were in there. Some of our new favorites we picked up : "Orion and the Dark" by Emma Yarlett, "None a number" by Oliver Jeffers, and my favorite book as a kid "The Seven Silly Eaters" by Mary Ann Hoberman
9.Cannon Beach... brrr... it was very cold and windy. but it was lovely. not my favorite kind of beach but we still had a good time walking up and down the shore and taking picturess. Nolie even put her lil toes in the sand! zach was very excited to get some shots of haystack rock too. like little kid excited.
11. We popped two tires in a matter of minutes. yikes! we had two rental cars and we popped a tire on each one, on some sharp pokey object lying on the highway. Zach was dozing and thought we were getting attacked. haha. It was definitely not an ideal situation in the moment, but one of those things you look back on and laugh.
12. Swimming with Nola. One evening i took her swimming at the hotel pool which looked out on the lake, a stunning view! She was diggin it! She didn't make a peep the whole time. i cruised her around on her belly, and back. I'm glad she likes the water!
13.Traveling and Teething. As you can see I'm reiterating the times when Nola was happy and calm... this didn't happen very much on this trip. She was in the process of getting two little razor blades.. also known as teeth.poor thing. She was pretty unhappy, and slept horribly the first few nights in the pack and play. So the last couple of nights we made a make shift bed in her car seat. It worked like a charm, she slept seven hours straight. thats the longest she's ever gone!
14."French Kids Eat everything" by Karen Le Billon was the book i read. i always relate places with the book I'm reading at the time.
15. Benjamin Button.... weird weird show. We watched it, and i thought it was never going to end. but when it did, i was very glad. but then i had an emotional breakdown in bed that night. about Nola growing up too fast. i think the old man baby really got to me.
I loved Oregon and would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks for such an amazing trip Lynne and Carey!
