EASTER

Easter this year was lots of fun with our tiny easter egg hunter. holidays are so much better with littles! We debated if we should hide eggs or put together an easter basket for nola, because she is so young. I've heard people say "why go all out? they won't remember it anyway" But the thing is, I remember it. We made lasting memories hiding eggs, and then no more than ten minutes later we walking around our apartment living room finding said eggs with loads of excitement. I think our excitement rubbed off too cause she got pretty excited over those plastic colorful objects.... typical baby!

We filled her basket with things we already had around the house. Thats the beauty of a four month old, she didn't know she already owned those items. Its safe to say her basket was a hit, that  Harold of hers has seen so much love in the past 8 months!

After snuggling up on the couch as a family of three watching conference, we headed up north to spend easter Sunday with family. Lynne always hides chocolate all over the house which makes the day extra fun. Everyone scopes out our potential finds all day until its finally time to hunt. Man,  I love chocolate. We then had our 3rd annual tennis tournament. Zach and Carey vs Carly and Kristi. All the pets played along this year too. The boys put in a good effort, but the girls won again!

Easter eggs and chocolate hunts are fine and dandy but the real treat this easter was being with the  ones i love and listening to the word of the prophets. They spoke about Jesus Christ and his love for me. I feel so lucky to have the knowledge of the gospel, and to know my Savior.

A NAME & A BLESSING

POO

On March 22nd 2015 miss Nola Rae received a name and a blessing by her father. It was a really lovely day. We were able to bless her surrounded by all our loved ones, in a beautiful chapel, right below the University of Utah.  The dress she wore was a vintage one my grandma gave me to use, but we aren't sure on its owner. it might even have been my grandpa's... poor guy having to wear such a pretty dress. I fell in love with it right away, because of its unique look.  She wore my old headband too. Thank goodness for a family that saves everything! One of my friends in my ward who blessed her little girl a few months later asked me if I had stressed about her having a blow out in her white dress.... I was a bit shocked that the thought hadn't even crossed my mind! Glad it didn't happen though that could have been.... fun.

This day feels like so long ago, and I have a hard time remembering all the details. But I do remember that my sweet little nola was so happy the entire time she was receiving her blessing. She stared up at Zach with the biggest grin on her face. He got a tiny bit choked up at the begining, which is a big deal for him, because he never cries, unless its from laugher... in that case it happens frequently! Anyways, after his emotional moment, he almost giggled because of the huge smile on our babies face. The whole circle of men gathered to bless her, were bouncing my tiny baby  so high, grandpa Cary said he thought she would take flight!

I am grateful for a loving, sweet husband who was able to give our little girl such a tender blessing.  He blessed her to be kind, and to love god, amongst other things. I know the spirit guided him and I was touched by his words. I sure lucked out in the husband department!
After the blessing we gathered at a nearby park for some food and spikeball in our sunday best .(I hope that grass stain came out of Kenny's pants...) It was such a special day, and I'm glad all our family and friends could join us in celebrating our dear Nolie.
