creme brûlée weekend.

have i ever mentioned i love the weekend?
mmmm well i do.... maybe a little too much.
this weekend was really quite nice.
friday i went and saw "micro dance" in concert at the rose wagnar theater with samantha, gretchen and amanda.
this concert was created for a 32 square foot stage.
itty bitty.
up close and personal thats for sure.

saturday i took zach to work so i could use the car for the day.
after dropping him off and wishing he didn't have to work every day this weekend i headed over to bed bath and beyond.
i went in search of a little baby cooking blow torch! fun!
i was going to attempt the task of making creme brûlée.
you see i have started this thing where i am going to try to cook/bake something new and exciting each week.
 i started with creme brûlée.
why this delectable treat you wonder?
well it was my dear aunt sheri's birthday on friday the 22nd and she adores the dessert.
plus it looked really fun to make.
and o boy was it ever!
happy birthday sheri.

although i felt like i did everything in a round about way, and had custard all over my kitchen,

it surprisingly turned out.
sheri squealed in delight when she saw it and when she tasted it!
i recommend this recipe if you are having the desire to use a miniature blow torch and make something delicious.
its easy to follow and there are pictures to follow along!
here is what i came up with.

saturday evening i ventured down to provo to see stefani perform in her dance concert. called "cowboy poetry" she did a swell job. i was tapping my toes the rest of the night after that.
plus there was a yodeler... super cool.
it sure was great to see everyone!

sunday church was the very best.
i love being in the primary.
the kids are just the sweetest.
i appreciate the great examples they all are to me.
during choir practice i glanced back at my cute husband in the tenor section to ask if he had to go for work?
but he gave me a cute little grin and shook his head no.
he surprised me and didn't really have to go in. yippee.
we went up to north ogden (the promised land) to visit our family.
ah the lloyd's have the most beautiful kitchen.
they are remodleing.
it looks really great!
so splendid to see them all.

you see why i love the weekend?
