one of the kids.

zach is lounging on the couch when i open the last box of girl scout cookies.
thin mints.
i take one over to him and place it on his forehead.
he immediately starts to wiggle his entire face until he has successfully retrieved the cookie in his mouth and smeared chocolate upon his eye lid.

we were sitting at pack meeting last evening listening to some announcements being made when i look over at zach and i realize the bottom button from his scout shirt is completely missing.
i whisper "what happened to your button dear?"
with a sly smile he whispers back "i shoved a basketball under my shirt and was trying to spin it, haven't you ever done that?"(haha who does that?)

pack meeting was centered around compassion and understanding those with disabilities.
a wheel chair was brought in, along with some other stations to get a slight glimpse of what it would be like to have a disability.
while running our (make a pb&j sandwhich with one hand booth) i noticed zach watching the kids playing in the wheelchair, a bit longingly.
he then told me that he had learned how to do a wheely in a wheelchair, and really wanted to try it.
it didnt happen till the tail end of the night while we were cleaning up when i saw him with a couple scouts around him popping wheelys with a huge grin on his face.

sometimes i laugh to myself and think back to those times when i have heard people say "a husband is just one of the kids."
well maybe so...this cutie is so full of life and i cant help but smile at how fun and spontaneous he is.
thanks for helping me keep a hold of the kid inside me, zachary!
